As the title really. I'm after something fairly comfortable, but not boring. Would like to have some mod cons such as CC, sat nav, cruise control etc. what can oh guys reccomend? I've got 5k to play with, and economy isn't a huge issue as I have the work van. Ideas I have so far
-350z (even if ginges old dturbo does spank these and every other automobile on the island)
-s6/s4 estates

The idea is to get away from the prospect of trouble, and spending money on cars. I want something a bit more sensible that I can just point and shoot lol

Mate of mine has got an st220, and although I'm not the biggest Ford fan, I quite like it. Its fairly comfy, got a good selection of toys, and goes like a stabbed rat when he gives it some.

Surely it would be a good idea to get the police thing out of the way first seeing as if you get points, you can pretty much say good bye to all of those insurance wise!
oh and buy a s4/s6 estate (doubt you will insure either anyway) and it will get torched! There absolute shit boxes

mondeo st estate is a good shout but dont expect it to be built well. Ive been in one and i would probably go as far as to say that the 306 interior is put together just as well as these. Unfortunately fords seem to be VERY plasticy of late

That's not a bad shout really, you could get a hell of a lot of Saab for 5k and they're nice to drive, fast as hell if you get a mapped Aero, and unlike an S4/S6 you won't look like a massive c*nt/dealer
You could get a real super-saloon for that money though...

Id have the jag out of them!!!
Problem is though is insurance. think hes forgetting that hes only 21 with potentially 3 points soon. S4/6 not only being a car that absolute cock ends drive, also carrys audi insurance prices. Good luck insuring one at your age for a sensible amount!

Can I be the voice of reason here for a second (shock horror I know, but hear me out!)..
you've got up to £6k to spend.
Spend £1500-£2k on a comfy medium spec relatively old bimmer, and save the rest.
OR, go hideously impractical, spunk £4-5k on a track-weapon and spend the rest on a trailer and subsequent trackdays.
Whilst that may sound silly at face value, think for a second a. why you're breaking the XS, and b. what you're trying to get in another car. I'll answer those for you; a. to avoid getting your license pulled in future, as we all know how much fun a stripped 306 is with winning suspension... and b. avoid aforementioned temptation to modify and subsequently end up getting caught and having license removed.
Therefore, I would flat forget about anything that drives well, the temptation to fiddle will be WAY too great, and the performance upgrades for a 370z/Audi/E36M3 are a LOT more money than a shitty old french hatch.
Also, remember the reason Niall got rid of his aero.... the frequency with which he accrued points in it. Is that really what you want in a car?
So imo, you either need to keep it cheap (and as I said on the phone, the best way to start is with a 306 DTurbo as it'll cost feck-all and you can save the rest, or a STOCK gti6, and leave it the f*ck alone!!), or if you're dead committed on spending a chunk of cash, either get a decent van, or get something comfy that drives like a sack of warm shit, so you're not tempted to modify it and subsequently spend lots of money and end up in lots of trouble AGAIN!

Ed speaks sense. Grant knows my insurance situation with the aero and i could of kept it but it was scary how fast you could go and not realise and that is why i got rid. Mainly because a m3 had a go with me on the mad mile, got to the end, started breaking, looked down and the speedo was just dropping down passed 130. All the cars you have listed are quite quick. Is it a good idea with your driving style? A 6 isnt a fast car without you noticing.
TBH i think i know the real reason why your car is going and i genuinely dont understand why you want any of them cars with your near future plans!

I know what Niall means there actually, a fair few times I'd boot the vRS down a sliproad and onto the motorway, overtake a few cars thinking everyone was doing 50 and then realise the speedo was climbing up to 130 very quickly...

Yeah i think bigger cars just feel slower. If im doing 80 in the 6, i know im doing 80. Even if im doing 80 in the skoda, it just doesnt feel like im doing the speed limit.
Bang a big powerful engine in it and its even worse.....its great but you do have to be so careful.

She said glad youve moved on. She couldnt deal with the comforting you whilst crying after you had ejaculated on her thigh any more.

She she told me that you were begging for it as you couldnt even afford a brothel. Something about you were embarrassed about showing your mum your saggy foreskin. Dont worry, i wont tell anyone!
