Wing mirrors

Taken my wing mirrors off as want to spray glass black, how do I take the actual mirror etc out of the unit so don't get paint on the mirror? Also, the guy before me got a stick on mirror as the one before had smashed, put on the broken glass, not straight or anything. Any ways of taking it off so can put another on properly? Thanks

Or maybe more usefully, iirc, if you take the cover off the back of the wing mirror, you should be able to get a small flatblade screwdriver in to release the mirror from the unit.

if you turn the mirror glass all the way one way. and look behind it you will see two lil metal bits sticking out use a small skrewdriver and lever them over away from each other and pop the metat clip off and the glass will just pop off
