Just to clarify, I ALSO have an hdi...so i would prefer a bosch'ed d turbo as a change and a different fiddle but another hdi would do too

1 is an easy fix, a bulb
2,3 and 4, gun gum it
5 and 6, both wheel bearings, needs a big hammer and circlip pliers
7 and 13 are both related
8, hammer and a new ball joint
9 point it down to match the other side
10, 11 and 12, adjust the shoes with the star wheel while the drums are off
lambda is an easy one too
at work we don't fail a car on bulbs unless the customer does not want to pay for the bulb and fitting (£10 per bulb) as anyone can at least check their bulbs before MoT

It looks bad but realistically it's not that bad. Most of the things are related. As long as there's no obvious problems you know of, I'd repair it!

It's just new exhaust and brakes! Can get copy parts for all that dirt cheap for a 1.6 from the auto factors!
Can't keep scrapping 306s!

If you're all so keen on rescuing her, then buy her off us and fix her! I'm no spending anymore money on a car that I wanted to get rid off even before she failed - because she's slow and bad on fuel! So, she's gonna die! We'll miss her but needs must and all that... :-P
