hi guys what when lowering torsion bars what does for example 3 nicks mean ? thanks

It means its a bodge and not adjusted correctly.

3 nicks is basically a half arsed way of doing torsion bars. You knock the whole arm off with the bar put it down three knicks and knock it back in. Its not really the correct way to do it. Youre meant to remove the torsion bars adjust to set height and reinsert.

The torsion bars have splines at both ends. Only removing the end farthest from the swing arm allows coarse adjustment and disturbs the bearings in the process, likely leading to premature failure. Removal of both ends of the torsion bar allows very fine adjustment and shouldn't disturb the bearings in the same way as the swing arm shafts can stay fully inserted in the tube .....providing the TB's can be removed easily.
