Restoring alloy wheels?
#1
I have a set of alloys I am going to restore. Am I right in thinking I need to follow this procedure?

Sand, smooth out, filler and sand, etch primer, high build primer, flat, regular primer, paint, lacquer?

Thanks, Jack

Loads of sanding and priming, inspect, sand and prime, inspect, sand and prime, inspect....then paint sand and inspect, then more paint, inspect...

wet and dry, laquer, wet and dry, laquer, cutting compound then smile Big Grin

Or just pay a reputable place to do them lol
it's definately worth considering depending on your costs to do them yourself

Depending where you shop, it can cost nearly £15/wheel for materials while you can get them done professionally for around £20/wheel.
Plus i have zero patience for restoring lol

Dont think I have ever heard of a place that will refurb a wheel for £15 each haha. Not somewhere that would do any level of quality

They won't do mine for that price and do a good job haha. They don't filler or anything just blast and powder coat haha. Covers nothing damage wise really
