Vacuum Pump for bleeding brakes
#1
Anyone heard of this?

Apparently ideal for bleeding hydraulic handbrakes properly.

Nice as you can hold vacuum at a set level.
But I've got an old fridge compressor which I use for vacuum and it's turned out much more handy than first thought.
Also helpful for bleeding fuel systems as well as easy brake bleeding without the on/off pedal thing.

Standard piece of kit in most garages (although slightly better tan that one)

Have a similar one, never really got along with it. Its really difficult to get the bleed nipple threads vacuum tight.
Tinkerer of 306gti6 trackday racer, less stuff, more hard, more umpf, more stop.

Yeah not bad design if you can get a decent seal.

Handy too for other things, vaccuum testing etc

For sealing my nipples I find silicone hose and a cable tie works well. [Image: lethercap.gif]
