Am I just being dumb?
I've ebay searched for a 406 inlet manifold to start a set up for an FMIC but the inlet manifold looks remarkably different to the one in the guide on here am I looking for the wrong thing? I've typed in peugeot 406 diesel inlet manifold
Cheers.

You're probably finding XUD mani's rather than HDi ones? It's only the 110HDi elbow you need as well, the mani itself is the same.

Yep that's right, the elbow just bolts on, but our '90' elbow faces down to the turbo, where the 110 elbow faces forward towards the FMIC.

Have a look in the guide section mate, several threads explaining this down to the last detail.

Removing the standard cooling fans and replacing them with slimline fans should give you enought room to fit a fmic.
Unless you where planning on fitting a huge intercooler, then you might need to remove the aircon rad as well. I'm in the process of gathering the parts aswell and would like to retain the aircon, but havent tried my intercooler for size yet.

As above, slimline fans will give you plenty of room for the fmic. It's pipework routing that's the challenge if you want to keep your aircon, there are very few places it can go.
