Running standard discs and pads on a hdi 90bhp, have what can only be described as the most irritating squeal when in motion and on braking im putting it down to cheap pads and rusty discs, looking at replacing them, what brands are people using? Without upgrading to bigger brakes.

I can vouch for Brembo. Used their discs on my GTi 6 for years.

Pagid pads and discs with decent bleed through with new fluid.....keep an eye out for ECP deals. Sometimes they knock off a fair wedge on the price.
