Why cant i pay fixed penalty online
#1
Right i got pulled over today for driving without a seat belt (sh!t thing is it was like the first time I didn't buckle up due to just going round the corner) anyways I got a fixed penalty which I've been trying to pay online for hours now but I keep getting this message:

The Offence Code you entered does not match the one for this notice number. Please ensure you enter the correct offence code and try again.

I've checked the details on the notice given by the police officer many times and there are no mistakes. Any ideas why its displaying this? Just want to get it out the way!

Has he given you 3 points? I have a feeling it might be an endorsable offence now and he's given you a non endorsable ticket or vice versa

You know after a bit of a google im not so sure i was right above about seatblts being supposed to carry points, I know they had been talking about it.

Try calling the telephone payment line and try and get through to a human. If you get a press 1, press 2 menu just press nothing and it'll often assume your on an old rotary phone and put you through to a human

Made payment via the automated phone service and they only requested £50.. hmmm whats going on? the officer seemed pretty confident when he said its a £100 fine.. anyways I have a reference number which I got after making the payment i imagine this acts as a receipt.

Is there any way for me to check that my payment has definitely been made

Dunno, you could try calling back and getting through to a human. Itll only end up in you getting charged another £50. He may well of put the wrong code down but i guess as it'll show the ticket as paid that you'll probably be OK especially with the reference number.

Your choice if you wanna take that chance

Getting caught without wearing a seatbelt is not an endorsement offence at the moment, just a fixed penalty and you might get a seatbelt awareness course to attend to in which case reduces the fixed penalty fine you have imposed.

Good news guys!! Phones 101 (Non emergency Police line) the officer who pulled me over wrote the wrong offence code on the penalty notice. So the fine has been cancelled! I am one lucky F***er!!

the £50 is getting refunded
