Cleaning S16 rocker cover/Gti manifold

Hi,

tried a quick search but haven't come up with anything...

trying to clean up my S16 rocker cover, which I think is the same alloy as the GTI inlet manifold, I've tried some weak oven cleaner, CIF, wire brush, and it doesnt seem to be doing much...

Just wondering how/what people have used to clean them?

Ahh thanks, I'll have a butchers and see how it goes is there a guide? Tempted to have a play and if there isn't make one!!
