Good evening all.
Picking up my 406 inlet fannymold over the weekend, as I'm fitting a FMIC to go with my new turbo.
Simple question really, as I do not know yet which route I'm going to take from the compressor to the 'cooler (I may go round the battery side), is it possible/sensible to use 'flexible' silicon hoses? All the FMIC installs I've seen use rigid ally pipes and silicon joiners.
Ideally I would want to get a few lengths of straight aluminium as it looks like sex in the engine bay, and a couple of metres of flexible hosing.
Yay/nay?

I'm certain such flexi hoses exist but for anything half decent quality your looking at quite a bit of money.
I've looked through eBay a few times before and its almost always cheaper just to use silicone and alu pipe.
If you do find anything affordable be sure to let me know!

The flexible stuff is good but in sizes 2" and above there really isn't alot of flexible, in them. You might get 2 bends out of a,meter hose if your lucky. You wont get loads of tight zig zags. I know this cos I spoke to the people who make the stuff at a show and tried it myself

As Dum Dum said, trying to "flex" a length of SILICON stuff is impossible really without kinks etc, and just looks messy tbh...
Only one ive seen that was tidy, was a guy jeth who FMIC'ed a BX using big 2.5" hydrolic hose, steel braided, that was super oem tidy...
