Leaking Diesel but where from??
#1
I noticed the small holes in the top of the block between injectors has been filled with diesel for awhile so yesterday i dry'd, cleaned and degreased all the top of the engine and the sump/ac pump as i had an oil leak (sump plug not tightened up, now fixed)

Gave it a scrub to get loss dirt ect off and made sure there was no water in there. Took it for a drive today done about 50 miles and its now starting to get wet again, the sump is wet with diesel and the back of injector 4. Also the long metal pipe with the Bosch plate on the left hand side. Not sure what this is??

I have checked the unions on the injectors i will do the other sides tomorrow but what else can i check to be a likely cause?

168k engine and has bad injector tick upto 3k revs then it just stops.

This bar running infront of the block is now wet:

Wet patch at the back of injector 4 also.

That bar is your fuel rail, check the unions on that. If you stick a bit of talc down you should be able to see the worst affected areas a bit more easily. I assume you've checked out your leak-off pipe o-rings, etc?

Injector tick stopping at 3k rpm is normal, only cured by new/refurbed injectors.

I have checked again today and 1,3 and 4 are dry but 2 is wet on the rail side. I will check them as i only did the injector ones before.
