no its not a metro before you all have a pop at me haha :p
But something you lads will love! and its the only one left in sunderland now.
I happen to walk past it and the owner was in the car.
1.4 205 lump dropped in for MPG
she is a 16v replica got practically all the toys of the 16v too.
me and the owner had a good chat about it for nearly 30 mins!
he does his own repairs too and is always after bits and pieces for it.
the car goes to the north east motor shows near the metro centre too.
I showed him the photos of my rover metro, and he had a gta too! we exchanged stories on how hard it is to get bits and pieces. he said at least I am not the only car of the 90s left now, not the only one to have a rare car! If we see each other on the road, we are going to give each other a flash!
also the lights are from France ( yellow lends)
I do love these cars, just like I do with the metros. I did tell the owner to look at fitting a Dturbo lump in it too.

not sure how many of these lovely motors are still alive?
parts are getting expencive sadly for him, the piping for the suspension is a pain in the arse, he mentioned too.

piggy, you no something, when I was driving back home after seen the car and chatting to the owner, made think back to when I left school. I used to see a lot of these and other good bit of 90s kit. I wonder now where all those great cars have gone! mk1 clios, novas, metros, old fiestas, sierras, old escorts, bxs, axs ,405s etc,
people back then, would say that one of the cars I have mentioned up there, were shite etc. even tho they didn't own one! now how the table has turned! My car turns heads now! and the fella with the bx, people take pose with the car and take photos of it!

There was a genuine bx gti in my local scrappy. Pretty far gone in terms of saving it though.
My dad had a few bx's, really interesting cars Tbh, really strange ride quality.
Always on the lookout for a 16v bx gti4x4

the owner of this one, said most of the meetings for the bx is down south, like here.
just shows you how much of desert sunderland/ north east sector is with car enthusiasts.
I am the only one from sunderland on here, and on net.
some cars like this maybe common sight you boys, but to me and my pals they are very rare sight.

There is a garden in Telford with half a dozen or so bx In it, all sort from bogger to gti.
Was easier for the old boy to buy a complete car and strip bits off it when things like the suspension spheres or pipes went than it was to try and source just the required parts ( this was. Pre eBay days etc)
These are odd as they have a hydraulic handbrake that works on the front calipers

There's a nice TZD on eBay just now. Always loved these, the handling is awesome like the 405 they share the chassis with but even better with the hydro-pneumatic suspension, as fast on a bumpy B-road as they are on a track!
