Ph3 tail gate question :)

Hi all just finishing off the inner spraying on my new tail gate but before I go ahead and start the out side of the lid there's something im not to sure about.

I will be fitting the ph1 boot button onto the ph3 boot, so the question. Is the rectangle hole the button gos into the same size as the ph1? The little round hole you find just above will be filed.

My mate fitted a ph3 boot button on to a ph1 boot and he said he had to drill a/some extra holes for some bolts/screws

That would be the one just above the rectangle which I have to smooth, hopefuly it fits as I wont to get this on tomorrow. lol

I fitted ph3 boot button onto ph1, all i did was cut the plastic bit off the button and fitted it no problem

Which would suggest the hole for the button is the same size? That would be brill as I can get it in primer and fitted
