Been sticking straight veg into the tank and its been fine upto today when its started pissing down and now won't start. So whats the recommended mix of diesel to use or even something that will thin it down abit in the bottle?

Some people use a small amount of petrol in a full tank of veg, something like 2 litres is enough to thin it down. Or use half a tank of diesel.

4 degree's is about the temperature you start to struggle, esp if it's dipped lower during the night.
Veg emulsifies before water freezes, so low single figure numbers give you a right arse ache with 100% Veg.
Best cold weather mix is:
5-10% Petrol (for thinning)
10-15L Diesel (for performance, cold idle stabilisation)
100-200ml 2-stroke oil (for pump & injector lubrication)
40L Veg oil
I ran that mix in the depths of winter, car starts like a champ first time and runs brilliantly.

Just pour a kettle of hot water over the pump to get her running. Then run 10% diesel

Can't have got that cold by you.
Is the car garaged or under a car port or something?
When veg gets to 0 degree it's more like jelly, it won't pump, it won't inject and it won't flow past a filter.
Frigging nightmare if you get caught in a cold snap before you've switched to a winter mix.
The car can be out of action for days until it warms up enough to start.
