alloy wheel refurbishment
#1
Has anyone got any good links to cheap wheel refurbishing in the Notts/Derby area?
Looking to get a set of nimrods stripped/blasted and a basic silver paint job done on them.

Not sure what I should be looking to pay, but none need any filling/straightening work on them, just the factory finish has corroded away on parts of them.

This. Been doing them at around this price since i first owned a car 12 years ago. Finish isn't the best but for £20/wheel you can't complain!

I wish somewhere round here did it for £20 a wheel!! My scuffed alloy annoys me everytime I see it, but looking at close to 3 figures to have it refurb'd locally. And I can't do bodywork at all lol.

Get onto the local industrial powdercoating companies, most will be able to do a price similar to that.

You've usually gotta sort out removing and refitting tyres and valves yourself, as well as sanding out scuffs and things.
but the blasting and powder can be done by them, and it's usually cheaper than a wheel refurb specialist.

This is a local powder coating company... Was £80 to repair scuff and coat one wheel.... I bought a brand new (old stock) wheel for £50... lol Then scuffed another a week later. Rolleyes Sods law really as not scuffed one since and its been over 6 months!

Find one that just does blasting and spraying, a proper industrial place.

They work on volume, so prices are low and turnaround is quick.

I might do this for the DIY aspect, however watching videos like this, they only paint the face, would they have sanded back the inside of the wheel too? Or is loads of work o nthe face and a guy dusting on the inside all that is required?
