There's been an intermittent buzzing sound in my car for the past few months. Sound comes from the drivers area and sounds just like a cooling fan at high speed. I'm pretty sure it's the LP pump, the buzzing sound is very prominent when the rear seat is lifted.
Before I open the fuel filter housing and check for bronze filings tomorrow, is this an early sign of pump failure?
Where's best to get a new one from (any preferred manufacturers?).

It does rather sound like it, yes. Get a genuine Siemens VDO if you can, they should be available from most motor factors.

First signs are always buzzing pump and metal fillings in the fuel filter housing. Next it will become a pain to start as it will occasionally fail to prime and then car will start cutting out. Ran mine till the very end of its life
