Apart from one of them being upturned on the tip I can't see what would be different.

Not much difference, but yuck ! Oval tips look silly on 306's ( my preference )
Any reason you chose this Instead of a 4" circular exhaust?

ok thanks, just thought i would check, theres a 306 with one not far from me, seems to suit it some how, was a nice deep sound but not stupidly noisey. she has the sportex on hers but i dont wanna pay £130 odd if the universal one will be about the same

They will sound different, all depends on the baffles in it, what engine is it going on, if it's derv then it will make next to no difference what box you put on it. But it will sound different compared to a sportex.

its going on a 1.6, "derv"??? not really bothered about it making much difference atm really, just want something other than the standard box thats on it atm, saw the one that had the 'letterbox' type exhaust on it and kinda liked it.....dont wanna spend stupid money on one yet because no doubt i will end up changing it eventually anyway

"derv" :- Diesel Engine Road vehicle.
And as a upgrade from standard that would do the job fine bud , have you looked for any second hand boxes ? Some pretty cheap ones out there, like 20- 30 quid if you can access a welder to "make it fit" you're sorted !

Ah right, first time heard Derv lol, might have a look tomorrow, yeah my dads got a welder so no problem getting it to fit..only thing I've just realised is my rear bumper doesn't have the cut out bit, might have to adapt that too

Some of the universal ones you can have them made without baffles for same price. I had one done for my 1.4 and IMO they sounded epic it was kind of loud but not over the top loud and it also rumbled wasnt tiny. Had a tiny pop to it as well. As for the sportex one I couldn't tell you. For my derv I'm going for a universal one till I can afford a nice full stainless.

To pull off an exhaust like that, the car needs some extra serious aesthetics; on a standard car...
but each to their own

I've not got a pic of it but this is the closest I could find on eBay after a quick look, his is more of a round shape rather than an oval though
