No power to amp
#1
Right this ones bugging me so I'm asking for help

My amp was working fine. turned it on last night came on then went off 5 mins later. Turned out the earth had come off the amp something had dell over in the boot and caught the cable. I touched the earth to the terminal and it came on fine so I left it at that thinking ill stick that back on in the morning. So I put it back on and nothing.

I've checked the earth and changed the earth cable. Both the under bonnet fuse and the amplifier fuse appear to be intact.

have you checked the remote lead from the back of the head unit to the amp?

Check those fuses with a multimeter, could be a dodgy one or could be a ninja fuse lol
Doesnt even own a 306.

Ninja fuse ?
just been told that sometimes the big fuse in the power cable can go and you can't tell without changing it. It goes at the solder joint on the end on the metal strip in the middle

Id replace both fuses as a starting point, if no luck bridge the remote to the live , (this will check if its the rem) if still no good your fuses were to higha amp and you over loaded the and its fooked, simples

guessing he has the head unit on to find out its not working therefor the rem from the head unit would switch the amp on Big Grin

Just checking though. If hes expecting life by just connecting the earth and he doesnt have the keys in then he can check it all as much as he wants.

If you mean bridge the remote to the positive on the amp I tried that and it sparks so I've got power there pretty sure it shouldn't spark though

The spark is it making the connection, surely? Are you testing with a multi meter or poking wires and see which spark?
