Wheres the best place to tap into a TD04 for a EGT probe? Might get it done whilst its out of the car?
Also, it will only ever be a cheap probe so probably gonna melt anyway!

Right before the turbo or you might as well not bother, ive used cheap nasty ones before without any problems, should be fine

The EGR is on its own passage in the exhaust, so wont see any gas flow / VERY un accurate reading!

drill and tap bottom of mani if you want, nearest turbo
ebay might be ok, but a risk if it decided to let go and your turbo eats it
I've got a stack one which is lovely and an autometer one which is also lovely (and for sale haha)
pics of my egt locating on a T25 in the collector are in this thread if that helps

On the exhaust mani, drill and tap as close to where the runners converge as possible and get the probe pointing right in the centre of the collector...

So where I've circled the red ring?
Ideally would prefer not to touch turbo for obvious reasons (I don't want a hole in it in case I remove the EGT).

I've put a EGT gauge on my d turbo and now need to get the probe fitted. Where is the best place to get it fitted? Like siverzx said I don't really to be drilling in to my turbo. Any help much appreciated
