Crap in fuel tank

I was experiencing some running issues so I thought I would pull the fuel pickup yesterday in the tank. Little did I know how much crap there was in there:





Looks like soil had been poured into the tank at one point!

The only way I could think of cleaning it was to soak up the veg with a few rags and wipe all the bits of crap out that I could. That's better:



There was also a little stone in there, not sure how that got in!

thats not soil thats the rubber the veg strips from the lines, thats the stuff that plugs the filters
how long have you been running veg?

Since October 2011 I think? Yeah, it was because I went to the BTCC and I remember my Bosch was newly on then. Ofcourse there have been times back on diesel as well, when Tesco were out of veg.
