Towing
#1
I know some times there is a bit of confusion about towing with an A-Frame but the DVLA have updated the info and things are a bit clearer.

Quote:A-frames and dollies
If you attach an A-frame to a car in order to tow it with a larger vehicle, the car plus A-frame counts as a trailer.

If you use a dolly to tow a broken-down vehicle, the dolly counts as a trailer.

In both cases the usual safety regulations for trailers apply.

"If you use a dolly to tow a broken-down vehicle, the dolly counts as a trailer"

"Any trailer weighing over 750 kilograms must have a working brake system"

so the car you tow on a dolly must have working brakes activated when the tow car brakes ?

or will sitting a driver in the towed car with instructions brake with my breaklights hold water??

It's never clear, I've done a towing test too, the way I see it you can't tow with an A frame without a B+E, also most cars are over 750kg so in my eyes your not ment to tow them either, but it's all a dark area!
