Diesel/Sunflower oil science

Been reading a book on combustion engines and came across this. Might make an interesting read for you derv guys

Pretty much sums up what is known, the oil is thicker than Diesel so needs manly pumps and injectors, it has a longer burn time so adjusting the pump timing is useful and it's got slightly less energy in - so expect a 10% or so power loss running it.

I always added cetane booster and 2-stroke oil into my mix, ran like a champ.
