Finding a grumble under cornering, usually at speeds over 40mph and corners which are quite tight, when turning left, the grumble comes from the O/S, feels from the wheel and grumbles through the wheel and on the pedals. Turning right is absolutely fine. It's not every corner and is usually when having a slightly more spirited drive than a commute into work drive..
Could this be a bearing? If so, how can these be replaced; pressed in professionally? new hub?
CV issue?

if you feel play at both id say wheel bearing

bearings do get pitted so it would be worth turning the wheel to different positions

to save some cash get a new bearing and take the hub off yourself, go to your local garage and ask him to simply press the old bearing out and press the new one back in. Cost me a fiver

CV is usually clicking on full lock.
Grumbling / droning in certain situations usually is wheel bearing related (possibly a tyre?).

Update on this. Had it up on the lift and had no unusual sounds or signs of a bearing problem

Yeah, what connor said, as often as not there's no play in knackered wheel bearings. Get that wheel off the ground and give it a good spin, you'll be able to hear it if you get your head close to it. Are you sure it's the front? It can be hard to tell where the noise is coming from, especially if you're not used to it.
