yeah but then doesnt the passenger side normally not work as a result?....if you remove the drivers side switch it stops the passenger side one working. Plus theres power to the switch for the wing mirrors. Spose need to check wiring at switch for power/earth

Id put a drink on it being a broken cable in the drivers door flex
Power is supplied to the window switch in the drivers door in two cables iirc

If your stuck, you can take the door card off and put 12v on the motor plug. Don't worry about orientation. worst that will happen is it will try and carry on going down so just swap your neg and line and it will go up

split boot...wiring like new...but two pin connectors had gone blue with damp/corrosion!
good clean up, oil up, tape, and we are fixed!! thanks though chaps....
I had a feeling it was that coz I had spotted the split in the boot not long ago and forgotten to take care of it!
