Im running my own set of B4s in the 2.1...I do really like them...firm, not bothered by rough surfaces on high and low speed corners...not too firm though either. jst a nice step up from standard IMO.

reason I am changing all mine is that I want something a bit firmer to go with other suspension upgrades and not sure b4s on the front designed for a 1.9 are coping with the 2.1!

Are these any lower than stock shocks?

I'm considering because right now I think I have standard dampers with TA's on the front meaning it kinda unbalances the car. Not that I notice but I know that it's not a good idea.

Sorry lol me being an idiot haha I thought you lowered the rear end by getting shorter shocks. Then I looked it up and I see you adjust the rear beam? Or something like that

yeah, thats right, 306 rear beam uses torsion bars rather than springs, so the arms get adjusted for ride height. Its a good idea to get uprated dampers when doing this mind

the B4s will be fine. Im currently using another set on mine, and mine is lowered 40mm. All depends on how you want the car to ride really.
if its just a daily, then b4s are perfect imho. Good also for some hooning.

but if you are a little more serious then b6, b8 are more for hardcore lads, more track biased

I'll get some B4's then Smile if I knew more about lowering I could have bought the ones you have for sale today. But my stupidity caused me too loose this one Doh

IIRC B4s are supposed to be "standard" spec for gti models.

Not getting that information from Bilstein, that's just what I've heard said quite a few times on the '6 forum, so may or may not be accurate. If I were buying dampers I'd ask for damping coefficients or even better, damper-dyno curves and then compare to standard if I could find any information about them.
