Its oil level. On the 1.8 petrol engines and bigger they show the level of the oil when you start the car. On the gti6 it then stays on and shows oil temp?

Does anyone know what the actual symbol is though, I never could work it out myself, a picture of an oil can or dipstick would've been more useful tbh!

Its oil level on ignition then on some engines it changes when you start up.
Doesnt even own a 306.

Brill cheers! Yea it only stays on for about 10 seconds then goes off i've only got a water temp gauge no oil temp gauge.
