What is the issue?
My battery will die, will bump fine, jump fine.
One day will just die, no signs previous. Just turn the key nothing.
Had the battery checked an he said it was "weak" but it had just been jumped
Checked and it is charging correctly
If I drive 5 miles or less the battery is weak and will struggle to start the car or will die
If I drive over that its fine.
It's an old style battery with de ironised water. There is very little in each cell but I hear its only meant to be a splash anyway.
So what is the issue? Surely if the battery was f*cked and won't charge, it wouldn't matter how long my journeys were?
And secondly, can anyone help me out by bringing me a battery? For the xud, to Portsmouth?

Fully sealed? Check if it needs topping up, but even if you did fill them back up, I'd say it was f*cked anyway

There is about, 1-2ml of water in the bottom of the battery, I'll check the fill level tomorrow. If they are under level will topping them up over the level help it atall?
What is the voltage ratings etc for a xud battery? My grandad has a spare he says its like 440a?

Im sure you want something more like 500+ for an XUD. And yeah, i think your battery has had it, and you definitely need more than just 1-2mm of water in the bottom.

can you do (or anyone) a drop test on the battery? watch the cells and see if any are bubbling. If so...ask santa for a new one.
