What the f*ck! So far we have ordered two different sets for the rallye head I have and both sets are different to what's in there! How many sets are there?
Apparently both sets that had been ordered where done of my reg! I then gave them the xu10j4rs engine code and it turned up with same results.
What stem seals do I need? Are the ones that are on the head wrong? What do I do?

I agree with Ginge.................
But TBH as long as they fit and keep the oil where its supposed to be does it matter what they look like?
there are probably a couple of different designs but probably all fit and so the same job

The engineering company are saying try are completly wrong, surely the seals need to be right to stop it blowing oil out the exhaust?

It's just a massive cock up, there is several different types, but only one is right, and I can't get that one type as I don't have the right engine code etc.
I gave them xu10j4rs and that wasn't right
Have them my reg and that wasn't right
Gunna tell em to stick the old ones in at this rate!

Well servicebox is giving me this:
There are 2 types of 2.0i engines to chose from apparently? This is the higher spec, which i would presume would come from the wallye.
I can get you the other picture if you want; it's not clear though...

You need to do it off the vin as I said on the phone earlier. They might all look the same but there is tiny differences in sizes which will seal or won't. Believe me, I found out the hard way!

Found the P/N of 0956 38. Diameter of 12mm and height of 10mm apparently

Same part number chris has got for me, bloody engineers are being a pain now though. And won't order any parts till I give them the reg number as they keep ordering wrong ones

Are you sure they have got the wrong ones? What's wrong about them? Don't look the same or don't fit?
The ones I got from pug which are definitely the right ones are replacements for the original design when the engine was built. They look similar but still fitted perfectly.

Your engine is an RFS engine code.

Cheers ruan, and Niall I don't know, they didnt explain to well, just said they were different, I'm
Going to prefer the ones from pug, unless they are an exact copy of what's in the head they are getting iffy. The ones from pug are a gti6/rallye ones an same part number you gave me Niall

Go onto service box and look through the different years of rallye and see if there are any different P/Ns. I doubt there will be. Don't think there was any changes to the RFS in 98-2000

Matt that head had been rebuilt and who knows what seals they put in when they did.
Just order up the pug ones from the part no and they should fit fine.
