Yeah sack your remapping guy lol. Unless you've intercooled the van then leave the boost alone.

Exactly what uberderv has said. Really shouldnt be raisinf the boost without an intercooler.
What has this guy even done to the car? How much HP did he predict from the map? Sounds like he doesnt know much about the engine. Does it smoke much?

He's a lad I know does maps all day everyday so trust him pretty well
I'm sure I've seen people on here running more boost without an intercooler fitted what's the risks?

If he does maps all day everyday...
Let's hope he doesn't give others such silly advise as to wind the boost up with no intercooler.
You will make heat and no more power.

Doubt there would be much point. The gains wouldnt be worth the risk.

Yeah one lad from Portsmouth thought he knew better and did it anyway, car blew up after 3 or 4 months. A claimed 25bhp is a pretty weak gain from these engines on a stage 1, since you know it'll be 20% less than that in reality. You'd be better off contacting one of the specialists on these engines. I know lots of people that do things all day yet are still shit at what they do. Poor maps really don't do these engines any favours, you will be able to tell by monitoring your mpg: if it goes up after the map you're probably OK, if mpg goes down get it checked by a proper mapper.
Edit: pretty sure the guys name was Ethan, you can probably find the project thread with a search.
