Mobile gearbox oil

I went down to my local stealers yesterday to get some total bv but I was told "we don't use that stuff anymore, and this mobile stuff is exactly the same" now this came from a chap who gave me the wrong oil filter 3 times so my question is, Has anyone had any experience with the genuine 'mobil' gearbox oil in a be type 'box?

And am
I better just going online and buying total bv then trying mobil in my box?

ive had the same the BV has been discontinued

the new stuff is labled as BV compatible on the bottle

i am now running the new stuff recomended and supplied by peugeot in my 6

as long as its 75w80 non ep oil it should be fine, Peugeot have used esso and shell over the years, just happens that Total has been the longest running supplier, being french and sponsoring most of their motorsport endeavours
