Dum-Dum's WRX Wagon
#91
So did I mention I have a problem with my TGVs that's throwing an ECU Code (although not putting it into limp mode)

TGV's are Tumble Generator Valves or swirl flaps as a non Subaru owner would call them.

Anyway on my car they are only part of the emissions bullshit and only operate for a few seconds after cold start. I could fix them but that is expensive. Removing them (and having them deleted in the map) is rumored to be worth a few bhp (I've heard 10bhp but I reckon that's bollocks) because of the restriction it removes as the shaft and plates are actually pretty beefy considering the size of hole they are in.

I bought a pair of someone elses broken ones and removed all the crap from one side then started smoothing the port walls, there is still more smoothing to be done and I need to fill the holes that it's left, I'm thinking drill and tap them out then epoxy in a set screw.

What do you think for a comparison.

think Chris sold it for a fair bit less than that so they're maybe just trying to as they say, flip it Smile

I was not trying to imply Chris was pulling a fast one. Just saying the new owner is sealing it already.

No I don't think you were. The new owner definitely is. Nobody should buy that car at that price and the MOT is almost certainly dodgy.

I know mate, just pointing out the sellers clear 'taken in px' that they always use as an excuse for any problems
