I'm going to do a DIY refurb on some nimord alloys, and have a question about the primering stage, have read a few different things.
I'm taking some of the alloy down to bare metal, so need an acid etch primer as a base, but obviously some of the alloy will stage as paint (but with a sanded and keyed surface) will it be ok to then acid etch the whole wheel? or just try to hit the spots of bare metal?
Then I'm going to high build primer (think halfords do a decent yellow one?) the whole wheel, then sand that too, is that high build ok over the acid etch primer?
I guess it has to be a yes to both my queries really otherwise the wheels will end up all patchy?
