As above....
I purchased this for my 2001 and the pin connections are different. my 2001 ecu has a bosch ECU made in germany with a 3 plug fitment.... this one has the single long plug connection and is made in france? Anyways... This one is off a 2000
£100 takes it o.n.o unless anyone can advise how I can make it work on mine?

look for the ECU codes i suspect the 3 plug is 592
306 ecu codes are
162
163
249
341
362
500
551
592
976
you need to match the correct code for your own car as the looms are different

also unless the ecu is unlocked you will also need,
the BSI box in the dash and the r/c locking fobs and immo chip so you can start and lock your car

Quick question, can you swap out ecu's with same code and itl work? or is bsi / key etc still required unless unlocked?

immo chip is encoded into the bsi and bsi is locked to the ecu
second hand bsi cannot be reprogrammed to used ecu
only new virgin bsi can be programed to used ecu
and all depends if you have the security code
remote central locking keyfobs can be reprogrammed via Planet software

also the old trick of removing the bsi to ecu link once unlocked wont work, as the ECU locks itself each time the ign key is removed or even if the key is left in the ign off for a period of time
if you sit in the car with ign off key in barral after stopping car for 5 mins the ecu will lock, turn the car over on the key the car wont start untill you remove the key and reinsert it this action off removing the key and inserting reunlocks the ecu via the bsi reading the key

The previous owner of the ECU stated that the map he had done came with a disc and instruction manuals which he lost in storage.
He then messaged me back with the following regarding my question as to whether or not if its unlocked...
-----
Hi,
I have no idea if it is unlocked? I assume you mean from immobilization? I think that there is a different ecu handling that, not sure but you could probably find out on the forums.
I thought all the ecu's from the engine were all the same for the same year!
