Refurbing dead bosch
#1
Ive got a dead Bosch pump sitting under my bench at work and a 414 11mm pump there as well. The 414 should be fine as all I need is the head. The standard pump though has not been used in 5 years and hasn't had fuel kept in it. Also has been confirmed dead by previous owner. Any chances of getting it back into action? Or is it worth me just buying a known working one.

tolerances inside are very tight - so if you have any corrosion inside its generally dead

save the hassle and pick up a known working one

That's fair enough. Just thought id ask. I'll keep it for spare parts. No harm having it stripped down though to have a look at some point this week.

Hm depends if moisture has got in there, if its dry dry, itl likely be fine / just stuck together with tar, good cleanup and itl go...only way is to open it up...
