passenger side window problem

Ive gt a dturbo 3 door phase 2 and when i bought it it had no window reg in the pass side, so as ahad a gti 6 for breaking aswell i took tht one out and put it in i couldnt get it to work at first but then i did something and it worked. But then after this im sure i chsnged the drivers door to the gti 6 because my dturbo had a dent in it. Am i right in saying tht because i have a gti 6 door and a dturbo dr tht the looms are diff and hence why the window doesnt work ?? Also the window will go up but wont go down .
