So i decided to build a engine hoist, they were too expensive new, so a cheap skate as i am, heres how it turned out.

How high does that go? Cant see that bottle jack having a great deal of travel... Pikey and bodgy and awesome either way though

I'd want some wheels on there personally...how are you gonna move the engine on the hoist away from the car?

It goes up around a foot n half. Should be plenty :-D
I have two wheels just waiting to get two more tomorrow. Saves me 170euro so im happy :-D ![]()

Ah that's alright then! I keep an eye out for local 2nd hand ones atm. Fair play for making your own though!

As long as it works and does its job well your on for a winner, what's the bottle jacks tonnage??

Best make sure you release the engine before using that then otherwise you'll lift the car
