| as the title says its the most annoying noise thats hard to trace!
accelerating-under load it does a "tik-a tik-a tik-a tik" faster and faster until the rpm needle is precicely at 3100 then it stops ... |

out of interest does a bosch pump run any quieter than a lucas?
i heard once that a lot of diesel engine noise is actually due to its fuel pump!! |
