If it's primarily a works vehicle, for your own company, why don't you lease as a company car? Then you can have something brand new for very little outlay, plus plenty of money for a weekend toy.....

You say she will be doing the ocassional long journey, but how many miles on average does she do per year? Financially a diesel doesnt' make much sense unless you're doing at least 10,000 miles. ...
