Took to an auto electrician today and they pinpointed the problem to be the immobiliser. So it was bypassed and disconnected and my car is good as new again :)

Took it to an auto electrician today. Turns out there was an immobiliser on it which had cut in. The chap bypassed it and she's back in business :)

The terminal on the cable itself is solid..could it be knackered inside? And would that cause the radio issue too?

Had both plugs off, neither have corrosion in but sprayed the points and put them back together. This wouldn't affect starter motor circuit though would it? As as to whether there's a starter motor ...

Why would the radio be dead, the clock not working and the quiet buzz from behind the dash at the same time as the starter not cranking though? Was running totally fine yesterday. Has confused me.

Batteries perfect. Wouldn't be able to start it from crossing the starter motor connections if that was the case

that looks a pretty nifty solution to me! Is it a diesel specific filter, or just a motor factor one? Basically overides the standard fuel filter and plumbing

this spiky plastic bit, ive taken a photo of the filter housing, is it this bit on the left hand side towards the back? a white plastic insert in it, can see a rubber ring in there too

Cheer for the replies! This only occurs when there's a quarter of a tank or less of juice, would that rubber seal still be the culprit? Quarter of a tank or more and it starts every time
