Dturbo not start. - kentiiboii - 10-01-2013 Come to my car today at about 12 noon. And it won't fire. Turning over fine but no go. Instantly thought frozen diesel tried the pump/Granada and wash harder than usual. But waited till this afternoon still no warmer but it's softer. But still wouldn't start. Checked in fuel filter housing and diesel is ok. So I thought maybe try spraying easy start into the system to help it along but still nothing. I know one of my glow plugs were dead and I still havnt changed them do you recon it could be down to them? I can't think of anything else as its always started fine apart from today when we get really cold weather in e/midlands. RE: Dturbo not start. - samass - 10-01-2013 stop solenoid? RE: Dturbo not start. - puglove - 10-01-2013 (10-01-2013, 07:11 PM)samass Wrote: stop solenoid? This^ I think there is a way you can bridge it with a live, do that and see if you can hear it. RE: Dturbo not start. - Dan! - 10-01-2013 Likely to be glowplugs, first check they are getting voltage, and if they are check how many amps they are drawing when they are on. Disconnect the rail connecting them, then touch the negative terminal of the ammeter on the glow plug and the positive terminal on the glow plug rail, turn on the glow plugs and it should draw ~12 amps, test each glowplug individually and you will find the bad ones. You can also check them by measuring the resistance between the terminal on the glow plug and the head, high resistance is good, low or no resistance means they are fecked. RE: Dturbo not start. - Oil-burner - 10-01-2013 If you need a hand kent drop me a text and ill pop over when ive got 5 mins Dturbo not start. - Seb_Ryan - 11-01-2013 Doubt it's the plugs if you tried easy start, stop solenoid I'd say RE: Dturbo not start. - kingy - 11-01-2013 Scrap it and get another corsa. RE: Dturbo not start. - ozonehostile - 11-01-2013 id say stop solenoid too. get a piece of cable with stripped ends, touch one end to the solenoid and the other to the positive battery terminal and just keep lifting it on and off. when you make a connection you should hear the relay click and the glowplug light should come on in the dash. i have this problem all the time on my 405, click the relay a few times with the wire method, if it still wont start jump start it off another car while still bridging the solenoid to the battery. usually does the trick ![]() change the plugs if their knackered, use the method dan said by checking the resistance of each plug, also worth picking up a new heater plug relay, the black box on the side of the battery cage RE: Dturbo not start. - Dave - 11-01-2013 If theres smoke coming out while cranking, its glowies. If not, stop solenoid RE: Dturbo not start. - kentiiboii - 11-01-2013 Right came today when I put my battery on charge. Car was turning over but not firing. Put my foot down on acclerator and eventually it started. Lots of smoke out the back and took about 20 minutes for it to warm up and run on all 4 cylinders. ![]() So yes glow plugs ![]() Btw Kingy. Maybe having a little 1.4 306 ![]() ![]() RE: Dturbo not start. - andywhy - 11-01-2013 Cheap vs expensive there's only about £10 in it, so just go for the better ones (bosch duraterms) and you'll have no problems. Go with cheap ones and they could be dead in a month.
