1.8 ecu swap - smokey - 09-01-2013 I am thinking of doin an ecu swap for a gti one do I need the loom aswell RE: 1.8 ecu swap - samass - 09-01-2013 yep. what's your reasoning? what other supporting mods are you doing? look at Dan86's project thread, he put gti6 inlet, exhaust, head, cams, loom and ecu on his 1.8 RE: 1.8 ecu swap - smokey - 09-01-2013 Just thinking it opens up more doors than the sagem all I can find is piggy back devices or inner ecu chips but I'm not sure they actually work RE: 1.8 ecu swap - samass - 09-01-2013 yeah that's a fair point, if you know someone that can remap the gti bosch, or even magneti marrelli ecu, that's a lot beter than the sagem POS. make sure the ecu is either unlocked, or you get all the immobiliser stuff with it too RE: 1.8 ecu swap - smokey - 09-01-2013 Unlocked?? RE: 1.8 ecu swap - samass - 09-01-2013 yeah otherwise the immobiliser will kick in and you won't be able to start the car. |
