small petrol engine - cully - 08-01-2013

ive had a 4 stroke generator in the shed for some time now
that has always been a bastard to start (pull start)

so i thought it was time to sort it or sling it out

so ive stripped the engine down expecting to find worn rings causing low compresion but no it looks as if the head gasket has been leaking or the valves arnt sealing 100%

so i maybe able to save it to live again fingers crossed
so in going to give it all a good clean
lap the valves in and lap the head together with the block and see if i can find a head gasket

anyway people like pictures so heres a few of

cam and govnor assembly

crankshaft

casing brake down assembly

yup lost 3/4 pots and 6 of the valves Smile

but i could gov mod it as it runs restricted rpm to set the frequency of the alternator
