battery light - wibbz - 27-12-2012 hi can any1 help me with my problem i have a hdi and battery light has jut came on and when parked up the revs are droppin off slightly would it be a alternator or battery any help will be much appreciated RE: battery light - Niall - 27-12-2012 More than likely alternator. Got a multimeter? If so, battery voltage should be about 11.8-12v when the cars off and about 14.4v when the car is running. Any less than 14 and i would say new alternator time. Also check the voltage at the alternator whilst its running. If that is about 14.4, youve got damaged wiring somewhere if its reading less at the battery. |
