Rear view mirror - David - 27-12-2012

Has anyone fitted a auto dim read view mirror into a 306?

RE: Rear view mirror - cwspellowe - 27-12-2012

Yep, mines from a 406. All it needs is a 12v live and earth, there's a 3rd wire to switch off dimming when in reverse but I never bothered as it needs a feed from the reverse light.

sweet...did all 406s have it??

have to admit...seems bit lazy though!

RE: Rear view mirror - Connor - 27-12-2012

Mines from a C5

Ive got the same. Nice as it slides straight onto the windscreen with no modification and its slightly bigger than the standard 306 mirror

RE: Rear view mirror - David - 27-12-2012

I hang got a rain sensor.

RE: Rear view mirror - cully - 27-12-2012

curtisy light has a live feed i believe wire it to that

RE: Rear view mirror - David - 27-12-2012

True. What could I use on the back of it as the rain sensor has a tint to it?

RE: Rear view mirror - cully - 27-12-2012

the black tint is like a black sticker of spots I'm guessing you could use black vinyl or a sun visor strip

RE: Rear view mirror - David - 27-12-2012

Shouldn't be as You would just wire it to the centre light as I'm gunna do.

RE: Rear view mirror - Piggy - 27-12-2012

yeh but the mounts look diff

RE: Rear view mirror - ozonehostile - 28-12-2012

Ive been searching scrappies for ages for a peugeot auto dim mirror to no avail, thet seem to be the first thing to go off a car.
might have a look into a mercedes one as almost all mercs came with auto dim mirrors after 2001 if not earlier

Use the ph1 mount then, just drill a small hole in the ball to feed the wires through

RE: Rear view mirror - Piggy - 28-12-2012

I've thought about this and I'm gunna try it today if I can find the right drill bit and spare wire.

RE: Rear view mirror - Eeyore - 28-12-2012

as all the others have said. I have fitted both a C5 and a 406 mirror. The 406 is a bit too wide and may catch the sun visors. C5 one is the way forwards!
