Latest on the China Cabby - Dum-Dum - 15-01-2012

So the latest is Ive got jonnys white SPs, a wind deflector, Lots of lovely blue hoses, a shiny blue catch tank and a shiny strut brace. The strut feels really flimsy fitted but has stiffened up the front end massively, sadly this has only lead to more understeer.

Coilovers and group N engine mounts are on order and i have a slim line fan sitting in the garage to give me space for a forced cold air feed along with a GTi6 manifold.

Gonna paint loads of the engine bay plastics blue to match the colour theme and im hunting for a silver dash and some crystals.

Looks smart now bud, needa get it dropped though!

Re: Latest on the China Cabby - Dum-Dum - 15-01-2012

Cheers guys, Itll be dropped very shortly. Just eyeing up brand new top mount parts from peugeot so i dont have to dismantle the standard shocks. Ive got nearly new heavy duty wishbones and droplinks in the boot waiting to go on when the rest of the suspension goes on.

That catch tank is gorgeous Smile I want!! Haha suppose I should make one soon lol

Re: Latest on the China Cabby - Dum-Dum - 15-01-2012

Matt For what the catch tank cost I really couldnt be bothered with making one and it comes with all the brackets, clips, hose and bolts youd need.

Im really tempted by an oil cooler and power steering fluid cooler as the current PS cooler looks a bit vulnerable at the front of the lower cross member and its getting corroded.

Link? Smile

Re: Latest on the China Cabby - Dum-Dum - 15-01-2012

Link to what?

If you mean the power steering cooler ill just be using a standard oil cooler.

Re: Latest on the China Cabby - Dum-Dum - 15-01-2012

Right graphs in order of Power at the Fly wheel, Power at the road wheels and Air Fuel Ratio.

Done on the 10th January, mods GTi6 inlet manifold and cheap enclosed induction kit, Engine is well looked after, recently serviced and on 96k

I would be up for seeing what mine was putting out before I put cams etc in!

Re: Latest on the China Cabby - Ian - 15-01-2012

What are they supposed to be standard? I had a blue cabby too but buggered if I know what it's power was

Re: Latest on the China Cabby - Dum-Dum - 15-01-2012

Theyer 135bhp and 132lb/ft Standard so im 4.2bhp up and 3lb/ft down on standard

Just looking at a graph of petes GTi6 from when it was standard (bar exhaust) and made 153.4bhp and about 135lb/ft so im only a tiny bit off that, they both make peak power at about 6200 too

Re: Latest on the China Cabby - Foxy-jim - 15-01-2012

I've ordered one of the square ones. Should tuck away behind the battery box quite nicely.

Re: Latest on the China Cabby - Foxy-jim - 15-01-2012

Thats not a bad result then! I thought it was a gti and was majorly down on power haha.

Re: Latest on the China Cabby - Dum-Dum - 15-01-2012

Nope the 135bhp was the most powerful they ever put in the cabby.

I will have a more powerful engine in it one day when i can afford it. I do keep seeing cheap 406 V6s but really need to get converted to LPG before I do that

Re: Latest on the China Cabby - Foxy-jim - 15-01-2012

Good man! SOunds like a nice project! Should have a new engine to rebuild in mine at the end of the year!

Re: Latest on the China Cabby - Jacko - 15-01-2012

In regards to LPG, you going to be usuing a performance tank or just a general LPG tank? Or is there no difference because I know bugger all about LPG and don't plan too. Lol

Latest on the China Cabby - Jonny b - 16-01-2012

Looks sweetas bud!! How much was the hose kit

Re: Latest on the China Cabby - Fozzy - 16-01-2012

At the garage i went to Yesterday to fit tyres, they had a ph1 hatchback with the v6 conversion, there wasn't much room around the bay, but it looked and sounded amazing. Hurry up and sort it out chris.
