I paid over a grand for the twin webers and manifold that ive got for my project mini RE: Twin 45 Webbers - samass - 20-12-2012 f*ck. so much want. RE: Twin 45 Webbers - cully - 20-12-2012 twin 45's have a sound of their own! old school /loveit RE: Twin 45 Webbers - Eeyore - 20-12-2012 how do these work with a standard ECU? I always presumed you had to get them fitted and have a remap before you could use them? And then wouldnt you need some kind of custom throttle cable? D: RE: Twin 45 Webbers - GTI 6 - 20-12-2012 No ecu needed too old skool for that lol RE: Twin 45 Webbers - cully - 20-12-2012 SRowell you would graft a dizzy on the end of a cam to give you spark timing and a throttle cable to open the 4 butterfly's in the inlets like TB's but all fuelling is metered on vacuum draw through jetted orifice's not via electric injectors ![]() RE: Twin 45 Webbers - ozonehostile - 23-12-2012 someone on here needs to put twin carbs on a '6. firespitting monster guaranteed haha RE: Twin 45 Webbers - Tallguy_2 - 25-12-2012 Hmmmm so tempting! They're dellorto's though RE: Twin 45 Webbers - Ruan - 25-12-2012 Thing is, they'd probably barely make the same power as standard on a GTi6... It's only the noise that's any different... And consume 50x more fuel... I love carbs and all, but in honesty, they have no place on a modern day car that's driven in the UK... An EFI GTi6 is bad enough as it is! IMO just stick to a plenum and single throttle body... Look at the BTCC cars, they were never on ITBs, just big arse plenums and single throttles... Everyone assumes that the ONLY way to make power is throttle bodies, but plenums can be made to make VERY impressive amounts of power... RE: Twin 45 Webbers - Piggy - 25-12-2012 ^^^agree 45s have had their day....back with minis n mk1 escorts a good tb setup rocks...but you have to head towards 9k rpm to benefit....thats a lot of fuel and not very usable on the road as -2500rpm its crap plenums with balanced trumpets and single tbs rule now...do cosworth not do a plenum for the gti??? |
