Boost on idle - Dum-Dum - 19-12-2012

Is there any issue with having boost on idle as long as it dosent start pushing the LDA pin?

Wouldnt of thought so.. Surely your turbo can be set in such a way it wont be boosting on idle anyway?

Yeah definitely but its just easier not to bother and have boost on idle.

Whistle on idle is win

I would have thought the boost generated be quite negligible at idle (if you're on about a vnt). A supercharger on the other hand would probably register a few psi. Don't think it would cause you any problems. Adjust preload /fit stronger spring and it should be fine.

Also, whistle on idle does not = boost!!

Wouldn't matter if it dropped the lda pin anyway as the lda lever doesn't do anything until the throttle arm is moved.

I know, mine doesn't boost on idle but it whistles, i just presumed the whistle would be louder lol

other than raping the turbo for no reason, no harm...but if its boosting on idle, sounds like if its a vnt you have the vanes stop wayy to far out...unless we are talking superchargers here
