Running veg? Power loss? - RePT - 19-12-2012 Hi. Is it just me, or is there a little 'top end' power loss when using veg? Im running it for the first time. RE: Running veg? Power loss? - Mattcheese31 - 19-12-2012 yes . .more so in the cold weather, it will also show up any week points in the piping and such, normal to spring a leek or 2 soon after starting to use veg . . RE: Running veg? Power loss? - Dum-Dum - 19-12-2012 Yes. Veg has about 6% less calories by volume than diesel and if you couple this with the losses of having to pump a thicker fuel then that accounts for the loss in power. Running veg? Power loss? - RePT - 19-12-2012 Car stinks inside aswell. Oh well. I saved £12 on my last fill up. Lawls. Re: Running veg? Power loss? - Tyronnster - 19-12-2012 I use 100l when going to see my son an save about 45quid a journey RE: Running veg? Power loss? - Mattcheese31 - 19-12-2012 (19-12-2012, 08:13 PM)RePT Wrote: Car stinks inside aswell. try and get sunflower or rapeseed oil rather than veg, both thinner and sunflower smells great . . save about 25 quid per fill up at veg at a pound per litre . . . RE: Running veg? Power loss? - zx_volcane - 19-12-2012 When i run veg in (especially in this weather and at a high concentration), the pump struggles to suck it up at the higher rev range, can see the ipp gauge dropping all over the place and dynamic advance getting stuffed. Got bio on the pump local at 114p/litre which is a nice compromise and is pretty thin, still smells of chips though! Running veg? Power loss? - RePT - 19-12-2012 Sunflower/ra*e oil is dearer? If not, can you list a source. And yeh, veg is great to cruise, but i do regret that topend loss RE: Running veg? Power loss? - Dum-Dum - 19-12-2012 (19-12-2012, 08:13 PM)RePT Wrote: Oh well. I saved £12 on my last fill up. Lawls. LOL im saving almost £30 a fill up. Veg is 90ppl and diesel is 137ppl saving me 47ppl on a tank which is a little over 60l RE: Running veg? Power loss? - Tom - 20-12-2012 Pretty sure vegetable oil is made using 100% rapeseed... Running veg? Running veg? Power loss? - RePT - 20-12-2012 Lols, Ill stick to my ktc. Am i ok to put 60L of veg, and the rest petrol?(whatever ml/ltr that may be..)? RE: Running veg? Running veg? Power loss? - RePT - 20-12-2012 Cheers matey. Local bookers wont let me in, unless im a registered business. How do you guys get around that? Edit: Fujj bookers. Costco £17.99 open to public. +1 for costco in my books. Going to pick up 3 drums. Woohoo. RE: Running veg? Power loss? - RePT - 20-12-2012 My locals have said they would do the ktc for £19 20l. Strange though, the veg comes in steel drums, where as costco have it in plastic containers.(both 20l) I wonder if costco is cheaper than tesco? Might just get households from there too! RE: Running veg? Power loss? - Anton - 20-12-2012 Tesco is £1 a litre, but Sunflower. RE: Running veg? Power loss? - r3k1355 - 20-12-2012 Costco used to do the veg in steel drums, was more expensive than the plastic jobbers so no-one bought it, lol! There's a bunch of ways to get a costco card, you need to work for one of like 100 or so companies to be able to get a car. BT, royal mail, NHS, police etc If you don't work for em, find someone that does - get them to sign up and then get yourself a second card on their account. Running veg? Power loss? - RePT - 20-12-2012 I work for royal mail, so im alright there. I dont know if its worth it though my local shop are doing it £19 a drum.(just a normal shop) what i mean to ask is, are groceries there cheaper than supermarkets? Would like to make use of the membership. RE: Running veg? Power loss? - Dum-Dum - 20-12-2012 Costco is stupidly cheap on some things others its no better than the supermarket. Tea coffee and sugar are ridiculously cheap. i pay less than a penny a tea bag for PG tips and buy from there for work (i run tea club) Its worth having a card if you have the storage space to be able to buy in bulk and are buying stuff that you use alot of wont go off. RE: Running veg? Power loss? - Ollie - 21-12-2012 I haven't yet tried veg oil but when i do I was going to ask around local chippys then filter it at home? What's the flaw in my plan? What's the flaw in my plan? Most chippies will buy it from frylite or other companies who have it in the contract that they get the used stuff back. Chinese's might be more likely to help you out, but certainly if you see frylite containers in the back its basically a no go! Running veg? Power loss? - kentiiboii - 21-12-2012 Get friendly with a takeaway! ill be getting mine for about £17.50 delivered to the takeaway down the road! . Running veg?
