Screwed - Toms306 - 12-12-2012 Yep, thats most definitely screwed! Not mine luckily. On my Dads Mondeo, so he asked me to take him and the wheel to get another tyre fitted as he doesnt have a spare to use. We only had an hour to sort it before he needed the car so just had to get raped around Ipswich for a tyre - first place only had a michelin....for £200! Tried a few more and eventually got a cheap budget for.....£83! Anyone thinking of running 17s.....don't bother! Although I know 205/50/17 is an odd size too. We've replaced a Wanli with a Westlake......I have no idea which was worse lol! Tom Re: Screwed - Dan! - 12-12-2012 Crikey that is an expensive size. Even the 225/40/18's on my bora were only £55/budget tyre. RE: Screwed - 1616six - 12-12-2012 RE: Screwed - Toms306 - 12-12-2012 (12-12-2012, 06:36 PM)Dan! Wrote: Crikey that is an expensive size. He had 2 new'uns just a month ago at about £80 each or 'Goodride's, I thought he was taking the piss so checked a few tyre places online and they're all well expensive. And I thought Fords were supposed to be cheap motoring lol. (12-12-2012, 06:37 PM)JJ0063 Wrote: Meh, I'm bored! Pfft, V6, 24Valve, full leather heated interior, shit heap Ford! Still, my diesel is faster than that lol.....oh wait, I mean 'was' faster. Plus it averaged 3 times as much mpg and hadn't done 150k like the Ford. Edit - but the Ford is still working though........unlike the reliable German motor......hmm.... Shame mine was only 4 pot 16v.....still spanked a shitty mondeo though!! RE: Screwed - Curt - 12-12-2012 Please stop talking about MPG. It's not as quick as you expect it to be in all honesty, needs another ~50bhp to pull off mpg like that! Does sound fairly epic though! But theres not much else a diesel can win at. /Troll But back on the topic of the forum...........theres a nice shiny diablo phase 2 '6 in the carpark of my Dad's flats...don't suppose its anyone from here? Has red calipers and green stuff pads if that helps, looks lowered a bit too. Oh, and it wasn't me, unfortunately. RE: Screwed - ozonehostile - 12-12-2012 my 16v mini runs on 205/45/r13, budgets arnt really an option because i enjoy not crashing quite alot, so have to fork out £180 per wheel for falken road legal slicks RE: Screwed - procta - 12-12-2012 that happend to my HDI, tyre had to be sent a way to be fixed. RE: Screwed - 306Dan - 13-12-2012 well you did that good an proper now, if your dad changes 2 tyres in the future drop the tyre size to 205 45 17, alot cheaper and done to many mondingo's while i was at ford RE: Screwed - Dum-Dum - 13-12-2012 Therer not that uncommon a size mate, theyre on a load of fords vauxhals and BMWs I think youve been done over. Not bothered either way, I wasn't paying lol. But they do seem to be expensive wherever you try, whether its because they're uncommon or becuase there's quite a lot of rubber going into that size I dunno. It's an 'extra load' tyre at that size so there must be something different about it, more rubber or more metal, more of something anyway. RE: Screwed - Pete - 13-12-2012 I need some new rubber for the 406, Oddball size that costs £.ra*e (215/55r16) RE: Screwed - Tom - 13-12-2012 (13-12-2012, 07:08 PM)Niall Wrote:(13-12-2012, 07:06 PM)Jonny81191 Wrote:(13-12-2012, 06:57 PM)Toms306 Wrote: or becuase there's quite a lot of rubber going into that size I dunno.
